We met with Habitat staff yesterday for a briefing. Only one other couple with RVs signed up and they cancelled yesterday. There is a group of Americorps young adults who signed up for 10 months with Ameticorp and will be here for 2 months. There are 12 of them working with us. Neat kids. Most have finished college but aren't ready for graduate school so this gives them time to regroup with their life plans and make a little money. It has been raining most of the time we've been here and it rained today. Site was muddy and full of puddles. We worked all day but we got filthy. Dead tired but good day.

Amarillo to CO

Beautiful sights

Ice in Denver
Gorgeous vistas
Beautiful rest area in Texas
We hated to leave a beautiful RV park we found in Amarillo but spent 6 hours on the road getting to Fort Collins, CO. Ran into sleet, rain, and snow and I had worn shorts because it was warm in Amarillo. Heavy traffic in Denver. But got in about 8:00 pm at a KOA in Fort Cillins. Needed rest so we took a Sabbath day. We hiked in a state park until the ranger asked if she could give us a ride to our truck since the lightening was so bad. When she let us out it poured but we got in a nice walk. Bad weather makes for beautiful skies in CO!

50th High School Reunion

We spent several days in Little Rock attending my 50th High School Reunion. What fun. F was great and enjoyed meeting my friends and talking to their spouses. We had a women's luncheon attended a Traveler's baseball game at the new field and Dinner/Dance the last night. There was a great video of our years at Hall. There were several woman I hadn't seen in some tome and I really enjoyed reconnecting like Becki Balch, Judy Rephan and Kitty Hughes. As always it was great to see my neighborhood group. We spent a few extra days due to broken water lines which froze during winter. We stayed in RV on Lake Maumelle and it was gorgeous cool weather.

Now we are in Oklahoma City. We stayed at Clint Winslow's (F's cousin) home and visited with him. F is working on broken water filter with his Uncle Stan. It was good seeing F's family.

Family Time

Dallas
We spent weekend in Dallas. Emma was Confirmed at First UMC, Richardson. F and I got to confirm her. We are so proud of her. Afterwards about 30 of us went out to eat, celebrate and open her gifts. Great time!

Carlee made the Dashing Debs Drill Team at Garland High School. I was sponsor of same Drill Team 46 years ago. Emma made the gymnastics team at her school. Both girls are in dance at their Arts Schools.

Houston
In Houston we got to see Daniel's last game of the season. They won! Great game. Dad Britt is coach. We saw MyKala's Spring Band Concert. She plays bass clarinet.

On Mother's Day the Houston Clan gathered at Janice's for barbeque and fun. Larry and his wife came and it was so good to see them.

Easter Sunday

We went to worship at Good News UMC and enjoyed seeing everyone. F got to give the Benediction. We spent a relaxing afternoon with friends at Flat Creek Winery. They are close to our age and had kids and gkids in other towns. Beautiful cool and windy day.

Trip Home

We had a very uneventful trip home. We stayed in Morelia a few nights. Beautiful city. It was Palm Sunday weekend and there was a big crowd at the main Cathedral. We couldn't even get in but we enjoyed being with the people. There were lots of vendors in the patio of the Cathedral selling food and Palm items. People take them to worship and leave them on the altar. They had closed off several streets for their version of the "Easter Parade." Kids and parents were skating and bicycling and waving balloons on the closed off streets. We sat at an outdoor cafe and watched the activities. Our hotel was wonderful with gorgeous landscaping and flowers ovelooking the city. At night it wD gorgeous with all the lights and fireworks one night.

We stayed in Matehuala the last night. Nice family hotel with dining by the pool. No problem with customs on either side. Then home and sleep. We always forget how tired we will be. Good to be home and see friends and family after two months and a great trip!
