Fred Got a Job

When F’s teacher took him to a construction site they offered him a job!  It is only mornings so he can meet with Heidi in the afternoons for his Spanish class.  He is so excited.  He went yesterday for the first time.  He had to get up at 6:30 am to catch the bus into Zihuatanejo.  They were wonderful to him.  He is doing the job to learn about construction and the words used.  The firm is owned by a man and his three sons who all work there.  They are building a studio apartment for a woman.  Most of it is concrete.  We went by there last night at 7:00 pm and they were still working.  Amazing!  I guess that is a 12 hour day.  F figures he can always quit if it gets too hard on him.  Everyone is very intrigued with why he would come here on vacation and get a job.  Even the guys here at our apartment quizzed him and thought it was hilarious.

I met F in Zihua after his class yesterday and we ate on the beach.  We met up with a waiter we had talked to a lot last year who remembered us and our names!  That was fun.  I think that is one of my favorite things:  sitting on the beach at sunset in Zihua (not Ixtapa), people watching and just reviewing the day.  Restaurants and night life activities start about 7:00 pm even weekdays.   We conclude our night life about 7:00 pm.  This includes families, too.  Schools have several sessions so kids don’t always have to go early.  Most stores don’t open until after 11:00 am.

I keep busy here at the apartment being a good homemaker.  About time at 68!  By the time I write on my blog, work on my pictures, take Cloud walking, get some sun by the pool, read, clean apartment it’s lunchtime.  The picture shows the washing machine which is in the back yard.  I’m working on what to do when I grow up.  This really is a new phase for us with the selling of the house.

Cloud

Cloud is having more and more difficulty getting up in the morning but he still wants to go everywhere with us.  At the beach he becomes a puppy again chasing every seagull he sees.  But he sleeps all the time at home.  He climbs up and down the stairs between first and second floor all day long.  Just when we think he won’t make this trip he gets perky and playful.  Who knows?

Update on House

Our house still hasn’t sold.  We did come down under $150,000 because that makes house more comparable to others in neighborhood.  Realtor had the main living area and F’s office painted an off white and did a few other minor changes.  It has been about 6 weeks so I guess we can’t panic, yet.
